Makenna Vanderhoof, 16, is an eleventh grader. During the school year she lives in Wisconsin with her mom, step-dad, and four of her siblings; and during the rest of the year she lives in Alaska with her dad, step-mom, and five of her siblings. Makenna got into mushing back in 2016 when her Alaska family decided to get back into the sport. In her free time, Makenna can be found working out, reading a book, and chilling with friends. Though she currently only lives in Alaska part time, she would like to move up full time to pursue a career as a vet tech and also continue mushing.
